What to do in Sydney (Part 1)

I wanted to create a mini-series for this. Sydney has so much to offer, from having some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, top quality restaurants and buzzing bars; it really has it all.

I have been lucky enough to travel to every continent, but no matter where I go, I always find myself saying “I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else”.

I wanted to share what a perfect day would look like for me. Whether you are a tourist or a local, I encourage you to follow this day plan – Enjoy!

8am: I recommend getting up early, and starting your day with the Bondi to Bronte Coastal walk. I’ve lived here my whole life, yet this walk always leaves me in awe of Sydney’s beauty! I love watching the surfers at all the beaches and seeing the swimmers doing laps at icebergs.

It is a great way to get your morning workout in too. I would say it is a moderately hard track, with stairs and hills, but it is definitely worth it for the coastal view along the way.

10am: After your walk and you’re feeling peckish, head to Lox Stock & Barrel for breakfast. This café is on Glenayr Avenue, Bondi Beach and it serves my favourite breakfast in Sydney. The portions are hearty, the staff are friendly and you’ll leave feeling nourished and energised. I recommend the Bowlarama! Check it out in the photo below, its the dish to the right.

12pm: If you have a car and the sun is shining, head to Kutti Beach, Vaucluse. This is a harbour beach that only the locals know, so it’s never too crowded. To get to this hidden paradise, you’ll have to walk down a steep road, and then climb down a very narrow ladder. You will want to set up camp here all day. Definitely bring some snacks and water, as there is no kiosk here.

4pm: After you’ve enjoyed the sun and the sea, you’ll be feeling a little peckish and in need of a vino. About a five minute drive away is Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. I would recommend getting some fish and chips, a bottle of wine and just relaxing as you watch the sunset. There is a great atmosphere here, especially on the weekends.

8pm: If you aren’t feeling too tired from all that sunshine, and you feel like heading out, then there is plenty for choice. After you’ve gone home and refreshed, head to Raw Bar, Bondi Beach for an incredible Japanese feast. The seafood is so fresh, and I love how hearty the salads are! The photos below are of some of my favourite dishes. I would also not go past the Nasu Dengaku!

10pm: After dinner if you are in the mood to have a drink somewhere, make your way to Ravesis, Bondi Beach. There is a fun atmosphere here, with either a DJ or live music most nights.

This plan is my ideal day if the sun is out to play. Give it a go and make the most of  what Sydney has to offer.
